Know How to Care Your Baby

Which Toys That Educate?

Given the busy times nowadays, Buying the right kind of toy for a child is probably as difficult as solving a major Math equation. This way, you don’t have to worry if the toy you’re giving has sufficient value because you’re sure the child will learn a lot of things from it. But, wait! Before you dash to the nearest toy store and grab the first children’s educational toy you get your hands on, consider these three tips first. Yes, even buying children’s educational toys have certain guidelines that need to be followed.

First, find out if the educational toy for your baby you’re thinking appropriate for the child. That is, if it’s learning level coincides with the child’s age range. All educational toy boxes carry this information outside, to guide you in your purchase. For instance, while a Vtech Laptop is a really swanky gift, it won’t do any good for a two year old. Get something that they can appreciate here and now so you won’t be wasting any money.

Second, when in doubt, ask. Most toy stores have little information kiosks where the educational toys being sold are made accessible to the public for testing and trials. These kiosks also almost always have a representative from the toy store who will gladly explain and demonstrate what each toy can do and for what ages they are best suited. Never hesitate to ask a barage of questions. After all, you want to get your money’s worth. Read more »

Does Your Baby Need Shoes?

Your baby need perfect shoes for his tiny foot

Your baby need perfect shoes for his tiny foot

Shoes protect feet from rough or sharp surfaces. They don’t help baby stand or walk. Until he starts walking in places that might hurt his feet, a baby doesn’t need to wear shoes.

Socks, booties or clothes with feet are enough. Bare feet are fine unless it’s cold in your home. When babies start to walk, going barefoot around the house or in sand or grass is good exercise.

When babies need shoes, be sure they are well fitted. There should be 1/2 inch of room in front of his toes. Shoes that are too big can cause falls, while shoes that are too small can cramp growing feet.

Buy the cheapest shoes that fit. A 1-year-old will outgrow them every 6 to 8 weeks. Remember to get larger socks when you change shoe sizes.

Soft, flexible shoes are best for walking. The sole should bend easily. High-topped shoes are not needed to support your toddler’s ankles.

Hand-me-downs are fine except in the case of shoes. Because shoes, as they are worn, mold to a child’s foot, it’s unlikely that hand-me-down shoes will fit your child’s foot properly. Choose your baby first shoes corectlly or this can cause walking problems for your child.

How Important Nanny Cam Is?

How important nanny cam is?

Nanny Cams are vital to your baby safety

Nanny Cams are vital to your baby safety

I do not know how many times I have watched those disturbing videos of babysitters, family members, or any other animal who are violently shaking newborns, infants, or young children around trying to get them to stop crying or simply because they are frustrated with them. This is no way to treat a child, and everybody who is caught doing so should face a brutal jail sentence. The problem these days is that very few of them are actually caught on tape, so who knows how many other children this is happening to that the parents do not know about. That is where it is up to you, us, the parents of these children to take matters into our own hands and stop this.

Nanny Cams are a must in todays society. Even one incident a year, although very low, is way too many incidents. What if your child is that one? I am newly married and will soon be having children and I know that I would be irate, and disgusted, if anything like this were to happen to my child. I would be equally irate if I was unable to catch these abusers red-handed. Read more »

Choosing Baby Stroller Tips

Which stroller is the right one for you?

Let your lifestyle be your guide. If you live in a city and rely on subways, buses, and cabs, you will need a lightweight but sturdy stroller that folds quickly and compactly. A stroller with sizable, air-filled tires is recommended if you’ll be going for long walks with your baby and your vehicle is big enough to accommodate it. Besides being more shock-absorbing, these strollers typically have cushier, more supportive seating. If you’ll be strolling through snow, on unpaved roads, or on the beach or taking your baby to soccer games in the park, a stroller with large wheels is the way to go. Under those conditions, a stroller with small wheels may be difficult or impossible to push. If you’re athletic, you might want an all-terrain or jogging stroller for walking or jogging workouts.

Don’t go by price alone. As you’ll find out when you’re shopping, there’s a wide price range among types and brands. What makes one stroller worth $100 and another $750? Several things drive up the price tag. Higher-end strollers are made of high-grade, lighter-weight aluminum, and are easier to lift in and out of a car. The seat is cushier, with more back support, and is likely to be made of high-quality fabric. And because they often feature large, shock-absorbing, swivel wheels, higher-end strollers are easier to push, especially over rough terrain, which includes anything from uneven sidewalks to sand and snow, so babies get a smoother ride.
